"ExactTarget, the fast-growing e-mail marketing and interactive marketer whose headquarters are on Monument Circle, today said it acquired its Australian-based partner, its third buyout since fall 2009.
The company bought mPath Global in Sydney and Melbourne, which it had worked with since 2005, and renamed that operation ExactTarget Australia. mPath has 150 clients. Chris Gartlan, chief executive and founder of mPath Global, will lead ExactTarget’s new Australian operation as managing director. All mPath employees have accepted positions with ExactTarget Australia. ExactTarget’s clients include Expedia.com, Fairfax Digital, Best Buy, CareerBuilder.com, Gannett Co. (parent of The Indianapolis Star), Tennis Australia, The Home Depot and Indianapolis-based WellPoint.
No financial terms of the deal were disclosed. CEO Scott Dorsey did not say what prompted the purchase.
The acquisition of mPath Global is the third ExactTarget acquisition in the past year, following the March buyout of San Francisco-based Twitter platform CoTweet and the purchase in September 2009 of Keymail Marketing that allowed ExactTarget to create a new international division in London.
The company now employs 730; approximately 550 of those employees are in Indianapolis."
