Success Story - Indiana Nanotech, LLC

Wednesday, November 12, 2008 by David Castor
One of my favorite things about being a business law attorney is that from time to time I get a chance to help fascinating people realize fascinating goals.  This past month Alerding Castor helped Dr. Robert Karlinsey become majority owner and sole manager of Indiana Nanotech, LLC.

Indiana Nanotech is an Indiana technology business which was formed in 2006 as a joint venture between Therametric Technologies, Inc. and Indiana University Research&Technology Corporation.  The company's products are based on Dr. Karlinsey's inventions and proprietary processes.

In scientific terms, the technology lies in producing novel material blends with enhanced properties using an all-solid-state grinding process (contact Dr. Karlinsey for more details: rkarlins@gmail.com)

In more common terms (i.e., in my terms), the company develops calcium phosphate blends which have significant and broad applications for oral health.  In short, Rob has created a sort of holy grail for the oral health industry - an ability to infuse calcium phosphate into common dental products to provide enhanced oral health benefits.  Over the next year, be watching for everyday common brand products to launch new lines such as fluoride-based toothpastes, mouth rinses and varnishes as well as products that reduce tooth sensitivity.

Alerding Castor is proud to have worked with Rob through this successful LLC transaction and looks forward to partnering with Indiana Nanotech on its future successes.
