One of my greatest passions in life is Africa. My two sons were born in South Africa and Ethiopia. My wife and I have been to several countries in Africa and have loved each visit. There is something amazing about the people, the passion, the culture and the beauty of Africa. At the same time, this beauty is bashing heads with hardship, suffering and turmoil. As most of us in the U.S. live comfortable, pleasant lives and spend our time complaining about relatively insignificant things, Africa draws me back to life. It is raw. It points to things that are truly important.I currently work with several clients who do business in Africa – from oil drilling in Nigeria and Togo, to real estate in Zimbabwe, to non-profit missions for children in South Africa. I also serve as President of Adoptions of Indiana, Inc., an Indiana non-profit organization which provides assistance and counsel to families in adoption – including international adoptions from Africa.
Just today I met with a Zimbabwe client who is in the U.S. for a few days. I cannot go into detail on the projects, but the focus is on building infrastructure and jobs in Africa – really amazing stuff. It goes beyond aid and hand-outs. It goes to helping people create meaning and reform culture.
I am always looking for more ways to work on meaningful projects in Africa – to build infrastructure, to develop education, to create jobs... If you have an interest in any of these areas, please connect with me.
